Cox Automotive offers internships across 10+ locations within the U.S. for current college students. Throughout the summer, students will have the opportunity to complete challenging business-critical projects alongside some of the most talented individuals in the automotive technology industry. The program will allow students to enhance their leadership skills through the delivery of professional development educational components as well as exposure to existing Cox leaders. Duration: 10 – 12 weeks, full time, paid internship.
The Intern of Mobility Finance & Operations will focus on enabling the overall Mobility Solutions Group to achieve its operational and financial goals. This position will work directly with the VP of Finance & Operations and Mobility staff to understand current challenges and collaborate to develop solutions. The individual in this role will be expected to be adaptable and creative in their support of the business, actively balancing the benefits of engaging the larger Cox organization with promoting a lean start-up approach.
Scaling the Business
Collaborates with the Mobility team to track the following:
Progress on goals, initiatives and KPI’s that lead to the successful scaling of Mobility
Pipeline of target acquisitions and partners and methodology/metrics to prioritize these targets
Onboarding/integration needs and revenue/expense synergy opportunities
Stays in tune with market dynamics and competitor’s actions and provides observations on potential impacts to Mobility
Actively participates in executing on the Plan, playing a business operations role as needed
Assists in the preparation of monthly financial and operational reporting that provides visibility to business performance
Contributes to market and customer profitability analysis
Partners with the Mobility team to assist in the development of business cases with supporting rationale for investment
Works with the accounting team as needed to meet the needs of the business
Actively pursuing a 4-year Bachelor’s degree in business or finance, or related field required
Oracle and hyperion/Essbase, excel and Power Point experience preferred
Automotive industry experience a plus
Desire to work in start-up environment and scaling businesses
Capable of delivering business analysis, modelling and reporting that contemplates both financial elements as well as qualitative concepts
Sound strategic thinking and problem-solving skill
Good communications skills and the ability to develop rapport and credibility across the organization, promotes ideas and proposals persuasively.
Must be collaborative, an innovate thinker/problem solver
Self-starter, organized, quick learner
Demonstrates energy and stamina and operates with a high degree of personal integrity
