Starting Pay: $20.20

1ST shift 6am – 2:30pm and 2nd shift 3:00pm 11:30 pm
Opportunity for either daily or weekend overtime
Flexible rotation between the first shift and second shift

Responsible for Performs preventative maintenance on plant equipment and material handling equipment as required. It also performs minor repairs as required and assists mechanics or Master Mechanic as needed on major repairs or installations. Performs all tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
Ensure quality product is produced and continual improvement.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Must be able to perform minor repairs and other small maintenance type jobs without supervision, along with fabrication in house of what may be needed such as: guards, rails etc.
Must have a basic knowledge of all hand tools and the proper application of the tools (powered and non-powered).
Must be able to lubricate and maintain production equipment in a manner prescribed by the company and/or the appropriate equipment manuals.
Additional Plant/Facility tasks such as painting, cleaning/organizing/5S
Working knowledge of P.M. system and duties.
Must be able to operate fork truck and pass company sponsored fork truck licensing.
Must be safety conscious and work accordingly and follow all safety rules.
Must be capable of understanding the English measurement system.
Must be able to work overtime when called upon to do so and perform additional duties assigned by Supervisor.
Specialized Job Knowledge or Experience Skill Level:
Able to set up and operate necessary equipment related to job function.
Know all lock out/tag out procedures.
Color vision required.
Ability to read from 1/32” to 8” high.
Close visual acuity necessary.
High School Diploma.
1-2 years’ experience in basic maintenance skills
Fluent in English or bilingual English/Spanish (written, orally and reading)
Standing 8 hours shifts
Environment temperature can fluctuate
Plant environment would have a strong smell of vinegar and/or spices
Physical Demand Classification (PDC: Reaching, handling, fingering, high repetitive, twisting, turning.
Physical requirements include strength to install motors - pumps and correct use of tools.
Most work is done at normal room temperature. Medium amount of work is wet and dirty conditions
75% Manual tasks connected with greasing and lubing of all machinery. 25% miscellaneous tasks such as drilling, cleaning parts, and moving equipment. 50% learning proper procedures and methods of maintenance. 25% working on PM’s and drawing parts. 25% Low task work 100% Safety.
Approximately 50% of the visual inspection required while completing tasks assigned on equipment
SCOPE OF PROGRAMS AND OPERATIONS:
Must be able to follow instructions and have knowledge of hand tools including some portable equipment.
Must know the importance of lubricants and consequences if it is not doing a proper job.
Must know the importance of clean up after work completion and remember to leave machines in working order and all guards in place when work is complete.
Must pass a 180-day probationary period.
Must be able to work at productive speed and efficiency.
Must be receptive of training both on the job and professional sponsored.
Also, able to use portable drills, grinders, etc.
