Job Summary: Reduces cash losses and insurance-related costs through review of operating information and store audits. Maintains restaurant compliance with security and safety policies. Responds to incidents of crime and participates with local law enforcement agencies, insurance representatives and Company employees in the investigation of such incidents.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Reviews KPIs on Cash over/short, Refunds, Manager Voids, Coupons and Manager meals and completes detailed reviews as needed. Publishes reporting weekly, monthly and quarterly.
  • Investigates and enforces all cash management related issues.
  • Follows up on armored car service issues and shortages.
  • Visits restaurants and documents the results of the visit in order to monitor compliance with safety and security policies and procedures. Reviews results with V.P. of Finance, Regional Managers and District Managers.
  • Responds to incidents of crime reported/possible internal issues, coordinates investigations and provides support for colleagues and customers (e.g., replacement of safes, repair of alarm systems and setting up interim armored car service).
  • Investigates incidents in a timely manner. Prepares a criminal loss report and investigation summary. Submits reports to the V.P. of Finance and Regional Managers.
  • Reviews false alarm alerts and publishes reporting to reduce cost of false alarms.
  • Reviews workers compensation and general liability claims and follows up with the field regarding investigations, video camera footage and other required information.
  • Conducts market visits with workers compensation insurance representatives.
  • Maintains relationships with security companies that install and monitor alarm systems.
  • Coordinates efforts to improve the Company’s risk profile to prepare for entrance into an insurance captive.
  • Attends bi-weekly RVP calls, monthly P&L review meetings and quarterly DM meetings and coordinates classroom instruction sessions with Recruiter/Trainer in order to present Loss Prevention programs.

Supplemental Job Functions

  • Identifies restaurants with a need for special security equipment. Installs and maintains such equipment.
  • Establishes and maintains professional relationships with law enforcement agencies and affiliates oneself with professionals in area crime prevention groups.
  • Periodically attends Loss Prevention – oriented conferences, seminars and workshops to keep abreast of innovations technology.
  • Communicates with other departments and outside contacts as needed.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years of experience in Multi-unit retail or restaurant loss prevention manager role or five (5) to eight (8) years of experience with a public law enforcement agency.
  • The ability to travel extensively (up to 50%).
  • Strong supervisory and training ability.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in the field of interview and interrogation.
  • Proof of and maintain a valid operator’s license, automobile insurance as a primary driver, as well as, a reliable means of transportation to carry out essential job functions, in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Must pass a criminal background check in accordance with company policy and periodically checked thereafter.
  • Must be willing and able to work evening and weekends when needed.
  • Be available and on call 24 hours a day.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of retail/restaurant point-of-sale systems.
  • Experience in restaurant operations and management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in security management or criminal justice.
  • Demonstrated supervisory and training ability.
