Description of Duties

Carlstrom ASL- Interpreting is seeking an adjunct for lab instruction in American Sign Language. Duties include teaching the following courses:

American Sign Language Lab | Tuesdays, 12:15pm to 1:05pm

Minimum Qualifications:
B.A. in related field required; will consider teaching lab instructor
2 years teaching experience; college teaching experience preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have a sensitivity and ability to successfully interact with diverse populations
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team member

Essential Functions:
Plan and develop a variety of instruction objectives and experiences appropriate to college-transfer courses in American Sign Language
Lead students to demonstrate cultural competence through the exploration of deaf history, deaf culture, and community
Design learning experiences for the unique characteristics of individual adult students through classes, individual instruction and self-directed learning
