As a member of this contact center the main job duty of this position is to assist customers with creating and maintaining their business registration information in GenTax via phone, email, online applications, or with paper forms. This position must ensure the proper information is captured from individuals and business owners in order to comply with tax laws. Provide the customer the education they need in order to meet all tax obligations. This position will maintain existing records to meet the demands of new and changing tax laws, department requirements and unit procedures. This position will have extensive knowledge of eServices to assist the customers with our online applications, filing and paying obligations. This position will also resolve GenTax work items which assist in the processing of business returns.
- Typing sufficient to maintain accurate records, and to perform skilled production typing
- English sufficient to perform the job duties as described above
- Customer service experience sufficient to convey complicated information in an understandable manner
- Ability to provide prompt, courteous, and accurate information to customers on the phone and through written correspondence
Applicants may be required to demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities by taking typing assessments.
Typing skills of 35 WPM.
Ability to coordinate several tasks simultaneously, including multiple monitors, typing, and speaking with customers.
Contact center experience.
Communication skills to comprehend customer inquiries.
Interpersonal and human relations skills to effectively relate and work with a wide variety of customers.
Problem solving and decision making skills.
Ability to learn and decipher legislative business requirements and revisions.
Experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook.
Ability to work as a productive, contributing member of a team; as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of GenTax and the GenTax warehouse, with experience in both individual and business accounts.
Knowledge of state and federal data privacy, security and disclosure requirements.
Knowledge of eServices to assist customers with navigation in order to comply with filing and payment obligations.
Maintain a stationary position for long periods of time.
Prior to an offer of employment, a background check will be conducted. This will include, but is not limited to checking degrees and licensures, criminal history, and tax filing and payment history. All individual income tax filing and payment obligations must be current prior to interviewing for this position.
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
