As an Equipment Service Technician, you will be the on-site technical expert responsible for maintaining and servicing all automation equipment and machinery in the warehouse. You’ll manage the workflow for preventive maintenance, scheduled repairs, and equipment setups, ensuring all systems run smoothly. You will also collaborate closely with the operations team to coordinate maintenance schedules, equipment inspections, and operator training.

- Safety: You champion safety procedures that ensure your safety, and the safety of other employees.
- Daily Support: Conduct repairs, maintenance, and morning startup on packaging equipment, conveyors, air compressors, and other automated systems in the warehouse.
- Automation and Controls: Utilize controls software (Allen Bradley Studio 5000, Cognex Dataman, etc) to aid in diagnosing complex automation issues. Demonstrate proficiency in the basics of PLC software navigation and troubleshooting tools.
- Continuous Improvement: Be an active team member in a cross functional team to monitor area metrics, and drive equipment performance. Lead root cause analysis investigations using tools such as A3. Utilize and apply technical training to teach others, and discover ways to improve our equipment and processes.
- Communication: Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including entering CMMS work order notes, writing technical documents, and training operation associates on machine operation, change over, and daily maintenance tasks. Collaborate with other warehouse sites for support and sharing of lessons learned. Provide timely updates regarding maintenance schedules, equipment breakdowns, and safety concerns within the warehouse..
- CMMS Management: Use CMMS to maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and inventory. Ensure timely completion of repairs and service tasks. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities including inspection results, repair history and equipment downtime.
- Maintenance: Manage, schedule, and execute preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance and rebuilds within the warehouse. Document findings, part use, and completion in the CMMS system. Continuously evaluate and refine maintenance tasks to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
- Spare Part Management: Utilize the CMMS system to maintain an accurate inventory of all spare parts, supplies, and consumables. Perform regular audits to ensure accuracy and availability, considering factors such as equipment usage, wear and scheduled repairs. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to quote, order, and replenish supplies.
- Vendor Management: Facilitate vendor relationships and serve as the point of contact for remote support interventions and vendor visits. Maintain a vendor list of outside contractors for any equipment that requires vendor support. Collaborate with warehouse teams, manufacturers, and vendor service personnel for all service visits.
- Troubleshooting: Perform electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical tests to determine root cause of failures and ensure equipment functions properly. Troubleshoot systems, processes, and assemblies using blueprints and schematics.
- You have a minimum of 5 years performing repairs and maintenance on packaging equipment or related machinery.
- You possess a 2-year technical degree (required)
- You are able to work a flexible schedule to allow for support outside of normal working hours in order to achieve maintenance objectives, including occasional late afternoons and weekends.
- You possess a basic understanding of PLC operation, VFD operation, vision systems (Cognex preferred), and automated warehouse systems
- You demonstrate autonomy and initiative by identifying and resolving equipment issues independently, ensuring smooth operations without needing direct supervision.
- You demonstrate proficiency in Google or Microsoft word processing and spreadsheets.

Compensation and Benefits
This role will receive a competitive salary and benefits. The salary for US-based employees hired into this role will be aligned with the range below, which includes our three geographic areas. A variety of factors are considered when determining someone’s compensation–including a candidate’s professional background, experience, location, and performance.This position is eligible for an annual bonus depending on employee and company performance. Salary Range
$27.13—$31.92 USD
