WGU is seeking a part-time (>25 hrs/wk) Intern to assist in the marketing/PR department. The Intern will assist with WGU's brand journalism and social media initiatives by handling some of the technical tasks associated with publishing articles, and doing Social Media engagement and reputation management around Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Reddit, Google+, Glassdoor, Yelp, etc. This role will also provide opportunities to contribute to the creative process, including writing articles and/or assisting with graphics and other visual content.
Posting relevant daily content to all social media sites
Engaging with WGU social media audiences
Creating a detailed schedule of upcoming social media activities
Hours will be flexible, though there may be opportunities to assist with various university events that take place in evenings or weekends.
Strong organizational and analytical skills are required. Must be generally comfortable learning new software programs. Candidate needs to be creative and have an aptitude for writing. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office. Enthusiastic about learning new concepts and tools.
Preferred skills would include experience with sales, graphic design, and video editing.
Experience monitoring a company Facebook page including social media engagement/chatter.
