The opening is for full-time Medical Assistant as a Floater between our Houston Northwest, N. Cypress and Kingwood outpatient offices for trauma, acute care surgery and general surgery patients. Responsibilities include administrative tasks such as daily census reporting, scheduling, and prior authorizations. Primary clinical responsibilities include reviewing and preparing charts for clinic appointments, obtaining and recording vitals, maintaining inventory of clinical supplies and preparing exam rooms.

· Experience working in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
· 2 years of Medical Assistant experience required
· High school diploma or GED equivalent required
· Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
· Nationally Certified as a Registered Medical Assistant
· Certified EMT or graduate of a military medical technician school with attendant experience may be substituted for the Medical Assistant certification.
Responsibilities
· A professional multi-skilled person dedicated to assisting in all aspects of medical practice including administrative and clinical duties
· Conducts EMR chart preparation to ensure clinic appointments are appropriately scheduled and all necessary records are obtained.
· Coordinates additional testing, imaging and/or referrals as ordered by the provider.
· Obtains prior authorizations as needed for scheduled tests and procedures.
· Serves as a liaison between patients and providers.
· Prepare patient for examination, take vital signs and record patient’s health history in the EMR.
· Assists provider with patient examinations or treatments
· Monitor inventory of medical supplies
· Clean, prepare, and stock exam rooms
