Job Description
Director, Finance - Category
The Director of Category Finance serves as the voice of finance across all commercial processes, including, but not limited to, business performance reviews, monthly close process (including analysis and reporting), oversight of commercialization initiatives, development of the strategic plan, and translation of commodity pricing into the P&L. The position interfaces daily with all members of the category team to understand business results and ensure delivery of financial commitments. In addition, the position interacts with the Operations group to support productivity efforts and works with Procurement to align on strategic pricing and risk management strategies.
Key Responsibilities include :
Partners with Marketing to develop and simulate the P&L based on performance, commercialization, and pricing
Leads the AOP and partners with Marketing to analyze and deliver results in MPR
Leads collaboration with the Commodity Procurement Finance team to understand the commodity performance and ensure proper translation of pricing into the P&L
Oversees a team of resources who conduct P&L financial analysis and cost modeling at the individual category level
Co-leads development and implementation of the pricing strategy based on competitive prices and commodities
Develops accurate financial plans and forecasts, ensures thorough understanding of opportunities, risks, and rewards, and influences the business to drive profitable growth
Coaches and develops direct reports to own category-specific finance processes, targets, and deliverables
BS in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration required. MBA preferred.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in Finance/Accounting
Outstanding business acumen, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
Ability to influence cross-functional team members
Motivated self-starter who can effectively work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Possesses the ability to lead teams and effectively work through others
Team player who manages collaboratively with the ability to influence management, in some cases without authority
Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
