Manager, Overhaul and Repair

L3 Aviation Products Division (L3 APD), is a leading provider of commercial and military avionics with unsurpassed performance, quality and customer support. L3 APD manufactures a diverse line of safety- and efficiency-enhancing products that set the standard for next-generation requirements, including configurable voice and data recorders, collision avoidance systems, navigation products, display systems and processors.
We are searching for a Manager, Overhaul and Repair who is responsible for:
Successfully manage the repair and overhaul functions for assigned standard products and responsibilities, including, but not limited to, overhead budgets, EAC's, repair cell work load scheduling and training.
Interface with external and internal customers to drive the success of the program.
Manage allocated resources to ensure that the division's business objectives are met.
Define process requirements / improvements for assigned standard product repair activities.
Work closely with the PMO Group to ensure that the customer's requirements are met.
Interface with the EPMs in the resolution of technical issues associated with assigned product(s).
Successfully complete delivery of all repaired standard products on time and within budget.
Responsible for ensuring that adequate resource(s) are identified to support customer requirements.
Coordinate with Procurement for the timely delivery of material to ensure the repair turnaround time is met.
Must have a working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles and their application to the MRO and manufacturing environment.
Work closely with Operations and other functional groups, i.e. finance, program management, sales, etc. to ensure the timely delivery of all required customer units.
Evaluate equipment and supplies required for MRO activity.
Recommend capital acquisitions to remain competitive with current and new processes being developed.
All other tasks necessary to ensure on time delivery of a quality product.
Identification and implementation of improvements and training to reduce cost and schedule times and improve quality.
Responsible to manage the training, monitoring, motivating and evaluating of the performance of the repair staff.
Control task assignments.

BS Degree, or equivalent experience, plus ten years’ Aerospace industry management experience in MRO, preferably defense display/electronic products.
Proven track record for meeting cost and schedule objectives.
Management skills necessary to successfully manage and motivate a group of technical and skilled individuals consisting of Repair Technicians and Customer Support Administrators.
Interpersonal skills required to successfully interface with Upper Management, PMO, Engineering, Contracts, Finance, Customers, etc. to ensure that objectives are met.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Knowledgeable and versatile with Lean Manufacturing techniques.
Aggressive team leader on Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) initiatives.
Excellent oral and written communication skills .
