Our successful property management company is in need for an experienced Assistant Controller in our corporate office located in North Little Rock.

The Assistant Controller Assists the Controller with the management of the financial assets and accounting operations of the company, which includes maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, a comprehensive set of internal controls, and accurate and timely financial reporting.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Assists the Controller in overseeing all accounting functions, implementing, monitoring, and enhancing accounting procedures and internal controls

Reviews monthly financial statement drafts including sub-ledger account detail and bank reconciliations and communicates review notes to the designated Property Accountant

Assists with periodic internal audits

Reviews annual real estate tax statements and oversees preparation of personal property tax assessments

Manages the insurance renewal process

Assists with financial reporting to ensure that reports are released accurately and timely according to reporting requirements and management needs

Assists with training and development of personnel assigned, either directly or through others

Works with external accountants on annual audit and tax returns

Assists with the annual budgeting process

Assists with additional tasks and reporting, as assigned

Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
CPA Preferred
2-4 years of experience in accounting required, with 1+ year in a supervisory role a plus
Experience with inter-company transactions or multi-entity environment preferred
Experience in property management, real estate tax, and insurance a plus
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, accounting systems and payroll systems.
