Full Job Description
Are you excited about working on projects expected to help millions of people? The pandemic has spurred our tech for social good team to open up rare opportunities to work on projects at Tech Matters, which is part of Silicon Valley's leading software for social good nonprofit, Benetech. If you are thinking of being an entrepreneur, or even better, a social entrepreneur, there is nothing like joining a start-up and working with serial entrepreneurs.
Tech Matters is a technology for social good nonprofit organization based in Silicon Valley. We are widely consulted for technology strategy by nonprofit leaders, funders and policymakers. We actively partner with other organizations and the communities being served, to help solve worldwide social problems through open data standards and open technology.
Tech Matters is developing software for two major systems change initiatives, helping children in crisis, and assisting local leaders with climate change adaptation and finance.
Children all over the world are suffering, especially today when so many children find themselves separated from school and friends. In many countries, the child helplines are the first responders when children and young people are in crisis. Call volumes are up by 50% at many child helplines, as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We would like software development help with this major project to build a modern open-source contact center platform (built on top of Twilio Flex). Our platform is already in Beta in 10 different countries around the world.
We are also building a major platform in partnership, with major conservation and aid organizations to bring tools, data and capital to local leaders around the world. We are just starting to build out prototypes and integrate other open source projects with our platform.
Tech Matters is a fiscally sponsored project of Benetech, and employees for Tech Matters are legally employees of Benetech.
