Communications Specialist
Part-time, Temporary
JOB SUMMARY
The Communications Specialist will be an employee of Richard Heath & Associates, Inc. (RHA) working on behalf of California's Office of Community Partnership and Strategic Communications, responsible for transitioning technical talking points to content that is understandable by the average person to further the goals of the program. They will create communications materials (in collaboration with a graphic artist) with creative messaging and imagery to reach diverse communities. They will work in both print and social media to create consumer friendly content. They will be responsible for the development of talking points, press releases and other communications tools based on campaign needs. This is a part-time, temporary, remote position (must be in California) and expected duration is three months.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience
- Two years of experience working in communication, marketing and/or public relations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills that may include public speaking and presentations
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to take complex information and create simplified and creative messaging
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Rate of Pay: $30 - $35 per hour DOE
