Full Job Description
We are seeking a Project Architect to lead production and contract administration for custom residential/small commercial renovation and new construction projects. Candidate must understand and value the design that develops after the schematic phase, and how closely design and technical detailing are intertwined. They must be an expert at transforming and enriching a Design Director’s vision to technical drawings. Primary responsibilities include:
+project involvement from field measurement through construction
+preparation of presentation (models, renderings, image + material boards) and technical documents
+leadership in detailing building systems, including organizing continuing education and building science detail standards
+maintaining codes, standards and technical literature
+detailed record-keeping and review of submittals, drawings, and materials during construction
REQUIREMENT FOR APPLICANTS
+Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience in custom single-family residential/small commercial renovation and new construction projects
+Exceptional communication skills – visual, written, and verbal
+Exceptional time-management and organizational skills
+Highly-skilled in AutoCad drafting (we use AutoCAD LT)
+Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup or Rhino, + V-Ray
+Familiarity with Chicago DOB permitting including ProjectDox & Hansen systems
+NAAB accredited architecture degree; architectural registration or demonstrated progress towards licensure
