The Learning Center Manager oversees the functioning of Learning Centers within a specified geographic region of Strayer University campuses by managing Learning Center Coordinators in their day-to-day operation of each Learning Center. The manager will work collaboratively with other departments, including IT, Student and Faculty Resources, Career Services, Academic Programs, and Campus Based staff. The manager will gather and use analytics to drive continuous improvement.

**Hours are from 1pm to 10pm**

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Library:
Ensures the proper functioning of the LRC in keeping with the policies and procedures as identified in Library training, resource and planning documents.
Assists students in using the LRC and fosters information literacy by participating in student orientations, delivering presentations to students (including library orientations to faculty and targeted classes), creating, and distributing promotional materials, both for on ground and online students.
Creates and submits Monthly Library Report and participates in recommending additions to the Library’s collections as requested
Coordinates circulation of library materials to include intra-library loans.
Maintains LRC in an orderly manner; performs regular inventory when scheduled to do so.

Career Development:
Creates and maintains a career area within the LRC that includes career displays, career resources, and a job book containing a list of current job openings.
Provides in person resume assistance, job search assistance and recommendations on career resources
Completes monthly reports, participates in quarterly update and training meetings, and initiates on campus career events.
With approval, initiates and coordinates guest speakers for on-campus career events. Two events per quarter are required.
Responds to and manages incoming requests from employers who want to network and recruit students and alumni.

Testing:
Ensures testing site is in compliance with Strayer and testing company policies.
Maintains Administrator and Proctor accounts with testing companies and Strayer Records Center.
Schedules and administers CLEP and DSST tests.
Provides test information to Strayer students

Information Technology support:
Responsible for maintaining computer lab and assisting students with computer-related issues.
In conjunction with IT, responsible for all campus computers, printers, media cart equipment, and server room.
Ensures security of all classroom computers and rooms in which computers are used for teaching to include locks.
Prepares detailed, accurate, and timely support documentation where required, including trouble tickets.
Uses technology and virtual media to support and engage with online students as needed.

Academic Support:
Assists Campus Dean with daily academic department requirements.
Assists Campus Dean with scheduling consultations with students.
Assists with continuing outreach and student registration including multi-quarter registration when applicable.
Assists Campus Dean with creation and tracking of cases in 360.
Assists with preparation of all campus-based events including NSO, student appreciation, faculty appreciation, and student honors recognition events.
Monitors ground faculty attendance to ensure it is recorded accurately and on time in accordance with academic policy.
Assists Campus Dean, faculty and Deans of Faculty to reschedule classes as required ensuring they are rescheduled in accordance with academic policy
Coordinates the campus tutoring schedule and the submission of tutoring timesheets.

Campus Information:
Continually update the campus plasma screen display with current and appropriate information.
Maintain campus bulletin boards.
Create and maintain a campus events calendar.
Assist with updating records of faculty and room assignments in Strayer360 or current LMS platform.
Manages the creation and distribution of student identification cards and parking passes.
Attends staff meetings and training sessions as requested and approved by campus leadership.
Other duties as assigned.

Education:
From an accredited institution; Bachelor’s degree required. Due to state licensing regulations/requirements, a Master’s in Library Science degree may be required in some states.

Work Experience:
Prior library experience is highly preferred.
Experience in troubleshooting basic computer problems is a plus.

Job Skills:
Must be able to develop familiarity with all LRC resources, mastery of LRC Online resources, and mastery of various reference interview techniques to maximize personal effectiveness in meeting the research needs of students, staff, and faculty.
Possess excellent customer service skills and be well organized and self-motivated.
Must have strong computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet etc.)Demonstrated knowledge of library management practices.

Other:
No travel
Must have the flexibility to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant, including evening and weekend hours.
Must be able to lift 10 lbs.
Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor
