Purpose of Position
Business Analyst Manager defines and performs the most complex process and systems analysis, design, and implementation. This individual also leads process and systems implementation and reengineering efforts to ensure highest quality of processes, information, organizational change, and services to internal and external customers. In addition, our Business Analyst Manager provides user support through problem resolution, system modification, maintenance, training, and procedure development. Also, this individual identifies, implements, and maintains system controls to ensure system and servicing data integrity, and serves as division liaison for inter-departmental process and systems development. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure maximum access to and implementation of technology services and resources within the University of Texas System and the Office of Shared Information Services.

Essential Functions
Manage/Support PeopleSoft environments including configuration, upgrades, patches and implementation of new functionality.Analyze and model the business domain to create a complete picture of work-flows and technical requirements fulfilled by existing and proposed software. Define the business problem and primary objectives of new projects. Identify and validate the key business requirements.Evaluate potential software solutions, including delivered components with PeopleSoft applications, and the system architecture to ensure that they meet business requirements. Create functional requirements in use cases. Coordinate requirements walk-through and sign-offs, verifying with user representatives/stakeholders that use cases and process models accurately portray specific business needs.Contribute to project plans and develop plans when applicable; including resource allocation
Perform impact analysis on all PeopleSoft and PeopleTools updates, rollout of new functionality and provide proposals for applying them effectively.Provide service and support determined by the current Service Level Agreements, including on-call support. Direct Shared Information Services business analyst staff to ensure technology is accessible, functional and equipped with current hardware and software.Monitor and maintain technology to ensure maximum access and usability across UT System locations.
Supervise and manage teams to ensure task completion.Provide daily team leadership for team contributors including:facilitating regular team meetings; helping teams prioritize and execute work; making work assignments as needed; promoting team member development and expansion.Prepare, review and report team activities including: team operating highlights and performance; service level agreement analysis; other team reporting as needed; service improvement recommendations. Complete team reviews, both annual and otherwise.Responsible for timesheet management and approval for their team.
Provide leadership through training, development, mentoring, and performance management initiatives. Provide team leadership including: guiding contributors on processes, procedures and task execution; providing feedback to management to improve team performance; includes conducting periodic and mandatory performance reviews.
Provide team escalation management including: resolving/escalating major team issues, problems and requests; option generation and negotiation; conflict management and resolution; overall risk management Manages and approves all leave requests for business analyst team.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with coursework in computing or information systems or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Minimum eight years of progressively responsible experience in computer systems management, software development life cycle methodologies and analysis 5+ years supervisory experience with a combination of: 4+ years of developing business requirements; and 2+ years of testing experience (including script development and planning). Self-starter, with high energy and outstanding analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent organization, management, presentation, and communication (verbal and written) skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field. 10+ years of experience in systems analysis, design, and software programming. Preferred experience in a higher education environment. 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting PeopleSoft applications within a particular suite,. maintaining, configuring, and testing systems with a combination of: 4 + years extensive experience in systems analysis, design, and testing; 4+ years of PeopleSoft Human Capital Management System Application experience (version 8.8 or greater); 2 years of SQL plus or general reporting. Solid working knowledge in three or more modules within the Human Resources suite of PeopleSoft 9.1 or 9.2 and the understanding of integration with Finance, Campus Solutions. Strong understanding (all phases) of the application development lifecycle; software development life cycle methodologies and project management disciplines. Strong understanding of production support procedures, ITIL methodologies and project management concepts. Possess strong adaptability to team leadership style of management. Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills; Ability to work well with people in all levels of the organization and handle fast paced, dynamic, sometimes volatile environment. Provide and promote excellent customer service. Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Project Visio); videoconferencing; Service Now or equivalent service(Incident and Problem Management, Change) management system. Additional certifications in supported technologies. Ability to travel as needed.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
