Benefit program administration including Medical, HSA, Dental, Life, Disability, Flexible Spending Accounts, COBRA, and 401(k).
Collects data on industry standards and practices to determine competitive positioning of the organization's benefit offerings.
Manages the annual open enrollment process working closely with Broker and outside vendors. Manages benefit open enrollment meetings, assisting in developing presentation materials, and ensuring that all employee health and welfare enrollment elections are processed accurately in the company’s HCM and vendor systems.
Communicates benefits information to new hires and assists employees with day-to-day benefits inquiries.
Maintain plans, records, generate reports to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Assure compliance with COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, and Healthcare Reform.
Participate in the preparation and review of all employee benefit communications including maintaining up to date Summary Plan Descriptions.
Review benefit invoices to ensure accuracy, and prepares and compiles self-funded benefit invoices and audits for accuracy.
Manage annual external audit of the 401(k) retirement plan.
Analyzes employee utilization of current benefits and develops specific recommendations for review by management
Manage and work with benefits vendors, brokers and plan carriers on status updates, issue reconciliation, and information sharing. Reviews employee benefit contracts to ensure proposed changes have been incorporated accurately.
Compensation program administration including market survey completion, salary planning and administration, annual merit and incentive programs, and position description creation.
Conducts market analysis of company positions to determine competitive positioning of the organization's pay programs
Evaluates the cost impact of changes to base pay rates and incentive programs
Evaluate new positions for external competitiveness and internal equity. Identify internal market benchmarks and assist in the development and administration of market range infrastructure.
Reviews and recommends salary placements for new hires.
Partners with HR in the development of solutions, conducts job analysis and market review and recommends appropriate salary grade according to compensation guidelines and policies.
Analyzes results of comparison and surveys and develops specific recommendations for review by management.
Coordinates operational aspect of the annual incentive plan, communication, and payout process.
Provides data input to annual salary surveys.
Leave of Absence Management Oversight
Oversees HR specialist administration of leaves of absences: FMLA, non-FMLA medical, personal, military, ADA
Leads and provides guidance and support for FMLA, and ADA accommodation compliance requests from Plant HR Team.
Remain current on all FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA & related laws & regulations.
Comp and Benefit HCMS Serve as HR Systems backup
Provide benefit and compensation administrative and professional support to the HR function at outlying locations and Corporate
Ensure compliance with ERISA and other legal requirements including but not limited to annual updates and communication of plan documents and summary plan descriptions. Assist in preparation of reports and applications required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies
Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring
Provides analytical support and data analysis on projects and human resource metrics.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
6+ years compensation and benefits experience
2+ years in team leadership position
Certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Certified Compensation Professional CCP preferred.
Ability to work as part of a team and independently with minimal instruction and guidance
Demonstrated strong PC skills related to Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, PPT
Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills necessary to interact with customers, business partners, and employees.
Strong project management abilities both in leadership and individual contributor roles
Ability to work with complex concepts and communicate these in a clear and concise manner
Demonstrated skill and experience writing technical plans and process documentation for varied audiences
Strong statistical and analytical knowledge, research and problem-solving skills
Continuous improvement mindset
