BIG PICTURE:
The Regional Assistant Controller will function as a right hand to the Regional Controller within the shared services environment of ONE Lodging Management's Scottsdale Corporate Support office. The individual in this role will directly oversee two Staff Accountants and will support the development and implementation of finance and accounting strategies for 10-12 assigned limited service hotels.

The Regional Assistant Controller will be instrumental in the month-end closing and annual budgeting processes. In addition, they will support multiple projects in an effort to achieve consistency and maximize efficiency across all properties, while optimizing returns to owners and investors.

The Regional Assistant Controller will assist in the preparation of financial statements, variance reports, G/L reconciliations, bank reconciliations, cash flow analysis and other reports that summarize and forecast business activities and financial positions in the areas of income, expenses and earnings based on past, present and expected operations.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Provide direction, training, mentoring and leadership to assigned Staff Accountants.
Consistently reinforce ONE Lodging Management's Support Culture by practicing, promoting and modeling ONE's Mission, Vision and Values.
Serve as a partner and key resource to management staff in the field; Support the analysis of each hotel's performance and operating efficiency and communicate accordingly with Regional Directors of Operations and General Managers.
Implement initiatives and financial strategies as directed by the Regional Controller.
Manage and coordinate daily, monthly quarterly and annual reporting activities for assigned properties.
Assist in facilitating the annual budget process across assigned properties.
Develop ad-hoc reports and financial information as requested.
Monitor and review revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, cash balances and cash forecasts for assigned hotels.
Monitor all banking activities for assigned portfolio, as required.
Support and ensure compliance with the capital request process.
Oversee hotel-level transaction processing systems and ensure compliance with Company policies.
Identify and implement best practices and SOPs to enhance property controls; Maintain systems of internal control to safeguard assets across assigned portfolio.
Support the annual audit process to ensure compliance.
Monitor internal accounting controls to enhance group performance and work product.
Develop clear goals and accountability for direct reports and offer periodic coaching and performance feedback.
Communicate with GMs and Regional Directors of Operations regarding monthly results and variances from expectations.
Perform other duties, as needed.

REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES:
Bachelors' degree in Accounting or Finance.
A minimum of 5 years' accounting experience, to include effective management of a large staff.
Previous multi-unit accounting experience within the hospitality industry.
Expert-level Excel skills is required.
Experience with Great Plains, Forecaster and Broadvine accounting systems is highly desired.
Experience in compiling complex financial information for executive review.
Extensive experience in with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Ability to respond positively and to matriculate in a fast-paced, deadline-conscious environment with rapidly changing priorities.
Impeccable track record for management of confidential information with significant degree of discretion and independent judgment.
Exceptional leadership skills and demonstrated success in collaborating with diverse organizational functions to accomplish common goals.
Strong capability for effective communication with all levels of staff and management, both verbally and in written formats.
