Full Job Description
The YMCA of South Florida is seeking Personal Trainers to join our Downtown Miami YMCA Team. Personal Trainers assist members in setting and achieving their fitness goals while emphasizing a high level of customer service and professionalism. Personal Trainers help Y members achieve their goals by tailoring individual plans and providing one-on-one instruction.
Maintains minimum personal training hours and dollars (GOALS) assigned by Healthy Living Director by driving new clients and retaining existing clients.
Delivers safe, effective, fun and interesting workouts (in that order) to all fitness-training clients in accordance with commonly accepted exercise prescription standards.
Shows and creates a professional value by answering questions from members related to their goals around healthy living.
Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living.
Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to effective information and support to members.
Through interaction with members, advise and sell personal training programs and packages.
Know and be able to communicate all programs and services offered in the Family Center.
Promotes member participation in all programs in the Family Center.

Learn Member’s Names and use them
Starts and Ends Sessions on Time
Conduct all assigned member appointments with high level of professionalism, providing the member appropriate information and support to assist them in meeting their fitness goals.
Maintain themselves visible and approachable at all times while working the floor.
Report for work as assigned; if unable to work secure the appropriate substitute.
Adheres to policies and procedures related to Daxko Engage (GOALS) usage and minimum standards issued by their supervisor.
Consistently complete assignments professionally and on time.
Maintain accurate records, data entry and private member information.
Assist in the cleaning and maintaining of safe equipment, wellness floor area and appropriate offices.
Ensures that all necessary equipment is available for member use, and inspects equipment to be sure that it is in safe working order. Reports damaged or out service equipment. Reports all maintenance issues immediately.
Monitors that the wellness floor is neat and equipment used is returned to its proper location in an organized manner before shift is over.
Assists Healthy Living Director in meeting department specific annual fund raising goals via specific individual support and direction provided by Healthy Living Director.
BS Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physiology, Sports Medicine or Certified Personal Training Certifications from ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM, NSCA and/or CSCS. Must be current at the time of hire and kept current throughout employment.
Current CPR/AED, First Aid certification required.
1-2 years related fitness experience.
Must possess strong communication skills and computer skills is preferred
Minimum 2-3 years of customer service, sales experience is preferred.
Knowledge of the principles related to the improvement of overall fitness levels
Certificates and Licenses:
YMCA certifications must be completed within 90 days of hire.

As a condition of employment, you will be required to submit to and satisfactorily clear a thorough Level II fingerprinting background screening.
