This position is in the Department of Human Resources. This position is for the Danforth Campus.
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for faculty and staff regarding benefits programs. The position will address phone/E-mail inquiries and process transactions in support of the university’s benefits programs.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs the following activities with regards to servicing the University’s benefit plans:
Provide benefits support by responding to inquiries via E-mail and/or phone regarding benefits questions.
Utilize various resources to ensure that a complete and accurate answer is provided. Directs internal customers to additional resources, including documented information, reference materials and self-service tools.
Maintain accurate data in HR System(s) and Benefits system(s).
Maintain an understanding of benefit programs and policies.
Present benefits information to new employees.
Develops strong relationships and collaborates with other teams such as payroll, benefits strategy, HR managers, labor relations, disability team.
Understanding of university structure and related policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 2 years of experience in Human Resources.
Working knowledge of benefits, leaves, Payroll, and other HR systems (Workday preferred).
Web navigation and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.)
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and easily adapt to fluctuating workloads and customer needs.
Skilled in understanding and applying applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Prior experience in a large complex environment.
Previous experience in a HR Shared Service Center environment strongly preferred.
Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal; a service-oriented communicator
A self-motivated individual with a high degree of reliability, accuracy and productivity.
Ability to manage deadlines with attention to detail
Positive outlook and willing to accept feedback.
The hiring range for this position is $20.77 - $26.46 per hour.
