The IB Services Business Group:
The IB Services Business Group combines the nuclear reactor design and construction activities and the products and services activities necessary for the maintenance, operation, modernization, and improvement of power plants. It also includes vessel propulsion nuclear reactor and research reactor activities.

This is accomplished through the talents of a mechanical, electrical, and software engineering team.
Framatome is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for our Mill Ridge Road location in Lynchburg, VA. Successful candidate must have a desire to work within a product development group developing advanced and custom software and hardware solutions for use in the nuclear service industry. Candidate will integrate into a multi-discipline team of engineers including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers. Activities range from development of new products, maintenance of existing systems.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated with the ability to work independently. The candidate will mentee with a senior engineer to develop hardware solutions in a variety of fields to meet the needs of robotic tooling required in the nuclear service industry. The candidate will demonstrate adaptability to different development tools as introduced.
The successful candidate thrives in an environment that is fast paced and very much “hands on”.
Participate and eventually lead hardware development for various control systems, for projects ranging from small to large.
Identify new applications and opportunities to improve existing processes.
Participate and eventually lead all aspects of the hardware life cycle:
Development of hardware technical requirements
Implementation of requirements
Formulation of acceptance criteria
Development of user manuals
Perform acceptance testing in accordance with acceptance criteria
Support hardware maintenance in the form of improvement implementation and, at times, hands on maintenance
Support products by on-site presence
Ownership of project budget and scheduling
Participate in team environment on medium to large projects.
Travel, both foreign and domestic, is required at times.
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
Engineer I: BS in EE, CpE, or Computer Science (Candidate with BSCpE or BSCS must have strong hardware background) plus 0-2 years of experience.
Engineer II: BS in EE, CpE, or Computer Science (Candidate with BSCpE or BSCS must have strong hardware background) plus 2-3 years of experience.
Engineer III: BS in EE, CpE, or Computer Science (Candidate with BSCpE or BSCS must have strong hardware background) plus 3-5 years of experience.
Candidate must be proficient in control system design and programming.
Candidate must be proficient in analog and digital controls.
Ability to communicate clearly and precisely in oral, written, and presentation formats
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
Control design experience.
Real-time controls programming experience.
PLC design experience; both system design (PLC) and programming (HMI).
Programming experience; VB, C++/C#
Motion controller / drive tuning.
Troubleshooting / field experience.
Networking / IT experience.
Candidate must be familiar with inter-disciplinary design combining mechanical ,pneumatic, hydraulic, electronics, electrical, software, etc.
Seasonal domestic/international travel 15%.
