POSITION SUMMARY
The Sales Manager for Events is responsible for booking weddings, private events, in social and corporate markets with a heavy concentration on the Social segment. This position will be responsible for growing Social business through soliciting new business, Event Planner outreach, entertaining clients, and maintaining existing relationships for the Soho Grand and The Roxy Hotels. This position facilitates prospecting efforts, site visits, proposals, and contracts. The Event Sales Manager is the client’s primary contact throughout the detailing process conducting walkthroughs, finalizing menus and floorplans, generating, and distributing BEO’s that reflect timeline, setup, production, AV etc.
This position is sales/incentive driven in a fast-paced, detailed and multi-tasked environment requiring experience on all facets of the event cycle.
Tripleseat and All Seated experience a plus.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
o Along with the Director of Catering & Events, manage the catering budget and forecasts for the year
o Respond to catering inquiries in a timely manner, ensuring all leads receive a response before EOD
o Create and customize event proposals
o Strategize new prospects, qualifying, and maintaining a database
o Develop a sales plan by market segment and time of the year
o Contribute to the annual Sales and Event Marketing Plan
o Assist with the competitive analysis and provides feedback from the clients on the menu/presentation/quality of service
o Increase revenue through applied selling strategy
o Cultivate existing and new client relationships
o Confirming event details including but not limited to menu selections, timelines, set-up, guest count when creating a Banquet Event Order
o Create and distribute event diagrams to ensure room set ups reflects the client’s expectations
o Upsell items- food and beverage and negotiate items like in-house AV, equipment and other required by the client services during the planning stages
o Settle final billing, ensure all payments are acquired prior to the event, shared with Accounting and deposit receipt sent.
o Participate in weekly BEO (Banquet Event Order) Meetings with Food & Beverage and Events Team to review upcoming events, discuss, and rectify all logistical challenges, and foresee potential problems or hindrances
o Monitor the quality of the products and services provided
o Strong Communication with operational Events Manager to ensure a seamless event execution and client’s expectations are being met and exceeded
o Greet clients at the beginning of the event and conduction a final walkthrough to assure the event production is flawless, executing the entire event as required
o Assist in supervising, training, and directing catering team members
o Resolve staffing and client issues as needed

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
