Under the direction of the Sponsored Project Manager, Compliance and Education, the Sponsored Project Analyst (SPA), Compliance and Education supports institutional research goals as an integral part of the Office of the VP for Research’s Office of Sponsored Projects.
Working as part of the Post-Award Management Team the Sponsored Projects Analyst, Compliance and Education reviews and monitors post-award activity to assess compliance with federal/local laws and regulations as well as institutional policies and procedures; identifies necessary transactions that require corrective actions; supports the development and delivery of suggested communications and training to educate GW researchers and research administrators on matters related to award management.
The SPA, Compliance and Education utilizes GW systems, data analytics and various reporting to monitor post-award activity and to perform recommended risk trend analyses.
The SPA, Compliance and Education works with a wide range of sponsors and sponsored projects terms and conditions and must be knowledgeable of guidelines, laws, policies and processes related to sponsored projects activity. The SPA, Compliance and Education also responds to questions related to compliance from GW’s faculty, staff and students and must demonstrate excellent customer service.
Performs other work-related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 3 years of relevant professional experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated understanding of research administration processes.
Working experience in university or hospital setting; data analytics software; Sharepoint and Nintex workflow;
Oracle financial software or other financial systems and other enterprise computer applications.
Ability to prepare training documents and assist with training program presentations.
Ability to expertly communicate complex research projects and procedures both verbally and in writing with faculty, students, peers and individuals at all levels of the organization.
Strong accounting, verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in organizing projects, problem solving and accurately assessing and analyzing information.
Excellent attention to detail.
Be flexible to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task, maintain attention to detail, quality, and response time.
