Purpose
The Chief Pilot is responsible for designing infrastructure that supports the safe execution of flight operations consistent with JetSuite’s Values and economic goals by developing a high-performance pilot group. Key responsibilities include assiting the Director, Flight Operations in performing and delivering various flight operations functions and programs including but not limited to pilot recruiting, pilot training, pilot records, manual currency, external reports, airport charts and publications, pilot domicile management.

Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure sufficient suitably qualified, trained and capable pilots are available to meet the needs of the flight operation.
Ensures there are sufficient Base Chief Pilots to meet the needs of the pilots.
Ensures investigations of any aircraft accident, re portable incident, records discrepancy, or airman flight violation is reported to the Director of Operations within 24 hours.
Works closely with the Director of Maintenance to ensure that aircraft maintenance problems do not unnecessarily disrupt flight operations.
Shall meet the requirements of FAR 119.71(c)
Is responsible for maintaining a liaison with the Director of Operations in all operations matters.
Is responsible for the training and retention of all flight operations personnel.
Coordinates training needs to ensure that adequately trained pilots are available for all trip needs. Assumes the responsibilities of the Manager of Training if that position is not used or is unfilled.
Ensures that the aircraft copies of the Operations Manual are current.
Designates flight instructors and nominates check airmen for FAA approval.
Is responsible, with the Director of Maintenance, for preparing and submitting the Mechanical Interruption Summary Report required by FAR 135.417.
Shall participate in the investigation of, and make a report to the Director of Operations on, any aircraft accident, re-portable incident, records discrepancy, or airman flight violation.
Ensures pilot records are maintained to FAA standards.
Is responsible for aircraft charts and related publications

Required Education and Experience
Must hold an airline transport pilot certificate with appropriate ratings and be qualified to serve as pilot in command in at least one aircraft used in JetSuite Air's operation

Meets the requirements of 119.71 or equivalent work experience
Minimum 3 years experience, within the past 6 years, as pilot in command of an aircraft operated under part 121 or part 135.
Preferred Education and Experience
1500 hours of total flight time may be considered (3000 Total flight time preferred ) to include 500 hours Pilot-In-Command and 250 hours Multi-Engine Land
Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
FAA First Class Medical Certificate
Valid and Current Passport
Must be fluent in the English language
Physical Demands
Intermittent physical activity including bending, reaching and prolonged periods of sitting.
Must be able to work all shifts.
Ability to occasionally lift 5-50 pounds.
Ability to occasionally team lift 50+ pounds.
Licenses & Designations
Must hold an airline transport pilot certificate with appropriate ratings and be qualified to serve as pilot in command in at least one aircraft used in JetSuite Air's operation.
Safety
Responsible for Risk Acceptance and Risk-Mitigation approval for Low risk as outlined in the SMSM. Responsible for the identification of potential safety issues, security threats, risk assessment of changes as needed and in commissioning, directly participating or conducting analysis as needed to support decision-making.
Responsible to ensure JSA maintains compliance with all requirements of the AOC and standards of the operator.
Responsible for actively managing and mitigating safety and security threats to the organization.
Responsible for liaison with regulatory authorities, original equipment manufacturers and other operationally relevant external entities.
Responsible for the proactive disclosure of regulatory violations, the investigation, root cause assessment and assignment and execution of effective corrective/preventative action.
