The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a 2019 Undergraduate-Level Intern in Communication Systems for an internship opportunity. This position will be located in El Segundo, CA.

The qualified candidate will join the Communcation Payload Command & Telemetry Department.


Support quick-turnaround conceptual design and advanced architecture studies for various government, civil and commercial communication and navigation systems.
Research cutting edge communication system and technology to enhance product features, reliability, and performance.
Support communication system and link analyses, detailed system hardware architecture trade studies and technology evaluations
Support configuration set-up and testing of communication subsystems in a laboratory setting
Document work products in briefings and/or technical reports to customers and colleagues
Participate with interdisciplinary teams in ongoing research or technical programs with academic collaboration partners
Apply standard techniques and procedures to carry out a series of prescribed scientific and/or engineering tasks
Training and mentorship will be provided.

Currently enrolled at an accredited college/university degree program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related program
Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
Minimum GPA 3.0
Must be able to obtain a security clearance
US Citizenship required
Knowledge of Visual Basic
Familiarity with one or more of the following programming languages: C, C++, Java, and MATLAB
Familiarity with laboratory tools such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, spectrum analyzers and multi-meters
Coursework: Introduction to Communication Systems, Electromagnetic Waves, or Electronic Circuits
Additional Coursework: Electromagnetics and Digital Signal Processing


GPA 3.5 or higher
Active security clearance
Experience with working with Linux, and development on a Linux platform
