POSITION SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to maintain responsibility for agency administration, oversight, and fiscal operation of services in the community. The Program Supervisor will provide leadership and management over services to ensure that our Mission and Values are carried out on a consistent basis. The Program Supervisor participates as the team leader and coordinates the day-to-day operations of the homes or facilities assigned, supervise the Direct Support Professional staff, and oversees the completion of each individual's plan of care and treatment. Service provision focuses on maintaining or enhancing the person we support’s self-esteem, promoting power, choice and autonomy, and teaching functional skills that are alternatives to maladaptive behavior.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED, college degree in the areas of rehabilitation, psychology, special education, social work, or a related field (preferred), or a minimum of 1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • One year demonstrated ability to effectively supervise staff in maintaining quality services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have acceptable criminal background check. Must possess a good driving record, show proof of current driver’s license and insurance.
  • Must have the ability to satisfy a background check and comply with the company's drug free workplace policy.
  • Must secure and maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
  • DSP Year I, DSP Year 2, ARF Certificate
  • Knowledge of Title 22 and Title 17

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS: Include the following & other duties may be assigned.

Operational

  • Ensure employees are held accountable for their performance and for obtaining direction and support as needed. Formal or informal corrective action is provided to employees as appropriate for the purpose of clarifying expectations and setting up Win/Win agreements to assist them in successfully meeting expectations.
  • Ensure all personnel practices are in line with affirmative action guidelines and other policies established within the Personnel Policies Manual.
  • Regularly update the Program Manager of events impacting individuals receiving support and services.
  • Monitor and maintain files for employee training requirements.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance of Title 22 and Title 17.

Financial Oversight

  • Ensure that staffing is maintained within budgeted staff hours.
  • Maintain program operation within established financial goals.

Growth & Development

  • Develop and maintain partnerships and effective ongoing communication with contracting entities staff in order to promote quality services and customer satisfaction.
  • Complete Basic Orientation and attend other in-service training as recommended.
  • Set and achieve performance and development goals as scheduled through the Performance Review process.

Safety and Health

  • Participation in emergency after hours on-call rotation to ensure response to emergencies.
  • Provide emergency consultation or response as needed.
  • Ensure adequate staff coverage is provided based on contract hours and required services, including coverage in times of illness, vacation, and emergency leave.
  • Ensure Individual’s rights are honored and opportunities for choices are provided and encouraged.
  • Ensure company and personal vehicle(s) used to transport individuals are in safe working condition and are insured for usage.
  • Maintain awareness of activities through oversight, attendance at key meetings, and team/ staff meetings.
  • Coordinate and oversee the overall activities of individuals receiving support, staff, and service functions to provide effective and high quality services.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages 2 or more employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, budgeting, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
