The Red Hat Product Experience team is looking for an experienced people manager to join us in the U.S. In this role, you will help build an extended customer-focused mindset into the development cycle within our engineering and product management teams, ensure that typical use cases are considered in testing with quality engineering, and validate that user stories are covered and clear with documentation. You'll lead a team of highly motivated engineers tasked with continuously improving the solution experience for our enterprise customers and cultivate long-lasting relationships across all solution functions to achieve measurable success.
Primary job responsibilities:
Manage and maintain a team of technically skilled engineers and impact-focused customer product managers
Collaborate with other teams including Product Management, Engineering, Documentation, Product Security, Release Management, Support, and Account Management
Partner with major functions to build lasting relationships with other managers that can be leveraged to drive change and improvement to our offerings
Continuously promote and guide the professional and personal development of your team while maintaining a high-level of employee engagement
Coordinate improvement programs and initiatives to guide successful and measurable outcomes
Bachelor’s degree preferably in computer science, computer engineering, or a technology related discipline or equivalent experience
5+ years of commercial experience with a software vendor
People management experience leading distributed teams, resourcing planning, prioritizing multiple simultaneous assignments, and promoting continuous program level improvements
Solid interpersonal skills and an ability to lead change and influence various stakeholders, supported by solid communication, presentation, and influencing abilities
Practical experience with Red Hat’s middleware product portfolio
Software engineering background; experience with RPM-based Linux and Java technologies is a plus
Experience with software development life cycle process
Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize your workload
Proven ability to learn and apply new skills and processes rapidly and coach others to do the same
Ability to work with multi-organizational teams to accomplish goals
Ability to identify and grow potential in team members
Ability to handle multiple tasks at once and prioritize accordingly
Familiarity with Red Hat's entire portfolio of offerings and open source software business models is a plus
