Position Overview:

The Maintenance/Facilities Manager will be responsible for leading the Maintenance and Facilities functions for Littleton operations facility and N. Billerica corporate office. Responsible for the general appearance, safety, and maintenance of both facilities. Ensure the safety and security of staff and property at both locations. Will be responsible for supporting and assisting the Assistant Director of Fulfillment Operations with OSHA programs and training. Majority of time will be spent in the distribution center providing leadership to facilities staff for reactive and proactive maintenance service on all operational equipment, as well as general maintenance within the facilities. Increase the site operational effectiveness by improving project delivery, including mean time between failure and downtime reduction. Responsible for planned scheduling, overseeing adherence and timely completion of all work carried out by internal staff, vendors and external partners. Create routine maintenance and inspection schedules for pump room equipment, generators, forklifts and other lift fleet equipment, company vehicles, fire equipment, etc. Manage and implement improvement plans that drive Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). Develop and/or improve standard operating procedures, and manage and mentor maintenance/facilities staff on best practices to ensure optimal efficiency. Identify deficiencies and recommend changes in training, working practices and processes. Collaboration with team members including superiors, DC floor managers, other department heads, and Human Resources is a key component of this position. This is a hands-on position, requiring majority of time working on the floor with periodic travel to corporate office.

  • Support Assistant Director of Warehouse Operations with facilities’ compliance
  • Support and assist Assistant Director of Warehouse operations in coordination of training programs for all associates
  • Stay current on OSHA regulations

Safety and Security

  • In partnership with Director, Senior Director and Assistant Director of Fulfillment Operations, and Human Resources, ensure the safety and security of all associates
  • Support Assistant Director of Fulfillment Operations in partnership with Human Resources on worker’s compensation injury investigations and proactive programs
  • Member of the Safety Committee

Associate development ~ Supply CAD drawings as requested ~ Minor Fabrication and\or structures as needed ~ Other duties as assigned

Qualification/Experience Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; and two to four years related experience related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience supervising or managing a maintenance/facilities staff.
  • Experience with distribution center or manufacturing equipment including automated conveyor systems.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and exposure to compliance and training programs.
  • Prior experience working with outside vendors including town safety personnel is desired.

Additional Information:

**This position requires successfully completing OSHA 30-hour General Industry training to receive DOL card.

This position requires a lot of walking daily throughout the distribution center, and other physical activity as needed. This position is responsible for many critical items affecting overall production success and safety to the organization. The ability to handle multiple projects and determine appropriate priorities is crucial to the business. This position also requires extreme reliability and flexibility when urgent needs arise outside of normal business hours/days. The individual in this position must be extremely self-motivated and be able to work independently, while also communicating effectively to all appropriate team members.
