As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will report to the CEO. The CMO is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to the BMS’ health services programs to include supervision of the clinical staff and provision of direct patient care. The CMO participates in strategic planning and organizational development with the executive team and provides clinical expertise and leadership in the design and implementation of new projects and innovations across the system. The CMO directs and oversees all aspects of the clinical functions of the organization and including development and implementation of policies and procedures pertaining to clinical staff and services. Ensures timely access to high quality medical services for BMS patients through clinical systems improvement, recruitment and retention of providers, supervision of site Medical Center Directors and oversight of the quality improvement initiative. Works collaboratively with the CFO and COO and is responsible for provider productivity to ensure financial objectives are met.

Primary Responsibilities of the Chief Medical Officer:
Provides leadership, strategy, and vision around practice transformation ensuring that our clinical model addresses patient needs.

Provides oversight to all provider services including Primary Care, Behavioral Health and Obstetrics.

Takes initiative to solve problems and recommend improvements to processes that impact patients and clinic flow from a system perspective.

Leads initiatives to refine, implement and create clinical policies and procedures.

Works to integerate special programs and new services that will improve the quality of care of our patient population into the existing model.

Leads the Clinical Services Department and provides strategic direction and oversight to Clinical Operations, Performance and Quality, Risk Management, Population Health, Infection Control and Care Management.

Must be a board certified, Maryland licensed physician. Specialites of primary interest - Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, OBGYN, Psychiatry.

6+ years of post residency clinical experience.

Leadership/supervisory experience in a similar setting.

Community Health and FQHC experience highly desired.
