Job Description:
GDIT has an immediate opening for a Sr. Network Modernization Consultant to work out of our Chantilly, VA office with occasional telework.

Serve as a thought leader and technical expert within GDIT’s center of excellence (COE) in the areas of network management, modernization and operations with an understanding of both legacy network topologies and architectures as well as next gen and emerging network technologies such as Software Defined Networks (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV)
Engage with Program teams and advise them on strategies to modernize legacy network architectures leveraging current and emerging next gen technical solutions and methodologies
Engage with Growth teams and advise them on strategies and solutions to meet unique Federal requirements for managing, transforming, and sustaining enterprise networks which improve our chance to win new business and identify growth opportunities on existing programs
Write whitepapers, blogs, marketing and sales artifacts, RFI’s and RFP responses
Identify, engage with and manage relationships with key and emerging Network Management and Operations vendors
Speak at tradeshows and industry events
Engage with members of GDIT’s technical community of interest (COI) acting as a mentor and coach to more junior network engineers
Lead solution design and the development of key artifacts including, but not limited to architectural models, process diagrams, concepts of operation, etc.
Develop unsolicited technical recommendations, collateral and RFI/SSN responses to engage prospective customers and position GDIT to win
Collaborate with GDIT technical service areas and lines of business to identify and bring the best technical strategies and solutions to differentiate GDIT
Review proposals and provide critical feedback needed to strengthen our solution and proposals in areas related to network architecture, management and operations
Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (14 years of total experience)
7 or more years of experience successfully architecting technical solutions and providing technical leadership on complex capture pursuits and proposals
5 or more years of experience delivering IT services in Network Architecture and Engineering with specific experience with the below related technical areas
Software Defined Networks (SDN)
Network Function Virtualization (NFV)
Hybrid Cloud, Wireless, Internet-Based as well as Leaf and Spine Network architectures and principles
Acting as a Full-Stack engineer with basic knowledge of Linux and Windows systems, storage, security, application and API integrations
Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)
Experience with technical leadership and project management
Ability to write exceptionally and to create compliant and compelling narrative that best presents GDIT’s solutions and approaches within the government’s requirements and evaluation criteria
Ability to conceptualize and communicate or develop rich graphic visuals that help to strengthen the GDIT story and clearly and effectively communicate concepts and approaches
Ability to present extraordinarily and competently during public speaking events and engagements
Be the expert in the room for all network strategies, architecture, management and operational topics
Other Qualifications

Hands on experience implementing and/or supporting technologies such as
Cisco or Juniper network switches and routers
Palo Alto Firewalls
Infoblox DDI solutions
Cisco or Forescout Network Access Control (NAC)
Cisco Nexus 9000, VMware NSX, Huawei SDN, Hewlett Packard Enterprise Helion
Knowledge in one or more of the below technical areas is helpful
Network Access Control (NAC) Technologies
Firewall technologies such as Palo Alto
DNS, DHCP and IPAM DDI Technologies
Industry Technical Certifications (Preferred) such as
Cisco Certified Internet Expert (CCIE)
Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional/Expert (JNCIP-SP)(JNCIE-SP)
Amazon Certified Solution Architect - Professional
Willingness to travel domestic (up to 20%)
