The Ann Storck Center, located in sunny Fort Lauderdale, is a highly acclaimed Non-profit organization serving the needs of children and adults in South Florida who present severe and multiple developmental disabilities including epilepsy, cerebral palsy, autism, and intellectual disabilities. The Ann Storck Center hosts several community programs such as Outpatient Therapy, Residential/ICF, Preschool, Afterschool, Adult Day Training, and Expressive Arts programs. We are dedicated to enriching the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities!
We have several full-time opportunities available at our Pembroke Pines campus.
The Pembroke Pines campus has the following shifts available:
1st shift (7:00am to 3:30pm) - 2 openings
2nd shift (3:00pm to 11:30pm) - 9 openings
3rd shift (11:00pm to 7:30am)
Duties include but are not limited to:
- five (5) of seven (7) days each week including weekends, on a rotating days-off schedule.
Assist with feeding, bathing, toileting and other areas of personal care.
Engage individuals in social interactions and activities.
Individual Plans (IPs):
Follow IPs for each individual.
Follow individual behavior programs as prescribed in individuals IP.
Laundry, sweeping, dusting, mopping, kitchen clean-up, etc.
You may be expected to perform other duties, including but not limited to hospital sitting, transporting individuals in ASC vans to recreational outings, shopping and medical appointments, preparing meals, distributing medications (in the Group Homes), as directed. You may be asked to work in other houses/shifts as needed, based on resident need. Overtime may be required.
Must have at least one year of verifiable working experience as a home health aide, caregiver, nursing assistant or other direct care professional.
Experience working with challenging behaviors is a definite plus.
High school diploma, GED, or high school transcripts
Position involves lifting and/or transferring up to 50 lbs. bending, squatting and other physical exertion for up to six hours per day.
Must pass a Level II background check, a pre-employment physical and a drug screen and PPD.
