Your Role
The Project Architect at Gensler plays an extremely important role in the delivery of design and will be the lead technical resource for multiple studios. It is important that these leaders become well versed in the Gensler design culture, Gensler CAD/Revit platforms, Gensler specifications, Gensler production & construction administration standards, and the Gensler contracts & project management standards.
The Project Architect will be responsible for guidance, maturation, and development of staff members, as well as the proper deployment of staff to ensure the make-up of each project team suits each individual project's specific needs and requirements.
What You Will Do
Lead the Technical effort of projects and ensure overall technical quality of work across the office
Oversee technical aspects of projects to be sure they are in concert with project scope, design, budget, client goals, consultant coordination and core requirements
Improve the quality of our deliverables and reduce risk
Improve the efficiency of our document production effort
Enhance design through strong technical support
Establish a leadership position and role model for technically oriented staff
Assists trained Project Team members to prepare project specifications
Collaborates with Project Managers, Architects, and Designers
Coordinates scheduling and production of Project Manuals
Participate in Firmwide monthly specification liaisons conference calls
Your Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
8+ years of project experience in an architectural practice
Licensed or registered architect
Advanced knowledge of Building Codes (as required for the jurisdictions in which our studio is performing work)
A strong design sensibility which leads to the enhancement of design through the technical innovation and processes
High level technical skills and experience in Construction Document (Drawing & Specification) Preparation
Experience in full cycle Bidding & Construction Administration on multiple projects
Expert knowledge of industry standards & resources
You are an educator capable of investing personal time to mentor junior technical staff
Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Revit
Experience in leading and mentoring multiple project teams in technical delivery concurrently
Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development
Excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to lead and mentor
Must have the ability to maintain existing client relationships and build new client relationships through excellent delivery and technical guidance
Ability to handle difficult situations with tact, grace, and style
Collaborative, team-conscious, and detail oriented
