Responsible for the maintenance of hospital and departmental policies,assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and evaluating evidence for best practice. Coordinates with multidisciplinary leadership, policy owners and/or content experts throughout the institution for review and implementation of hospital policies. Coordinates and fosters the development of an evidence-based approach to clinical practice.
Experience and Education
Bachelor’s degree and related experience required. Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Master’s degree preferred. Related experience in health care, academic, or publications environment strongly preferred. Must have a minimum of three (5) years’ experience in a healthcare setting.
Assist with coordinating, developing, evaluating, reviewing, revising, and evaluating the policies and procedures with research of evidence based practice while integrating applicable standards and regulations.
Responsible for maintaining electronic policy and procedure repository through policy management software
Provide assistance for all university hospital departments and clinics with policies and procedures for their respective areas.
Collaborate with departmental subject matter experts to prepare and ultimately maintain documentation on procedures and process workflows.
Assist with the Hospital Policy Committee meetings and follow-ups to ensure all policy and procedures documents are properly vetted, reviewed and approved.
Analyze complex content information gathered from different sources into a clear and logical written policy or procedure, streamline processes and flowcharts.
Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact clinical practices and patient safety.
Assist with communication of new/revised polices/procedures in a timely manner and collaborates with Education Department on identified topics to ensure proper deployment.

Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external personnel.
Must have excellent presentation skills and personal computer skills in MS Word, Power Point, and Excel software including working knowledge of EPIC
Must be able to prepare project schedules, and reports
Must be able to evaluate practice for evidence of Best Practice
