Job Summary: The Senior Tax Analyst – State and Local will work with the Group Tax Director as well as the VP & Group Treasurer of Terumo Americas Holding and its subsidiaries in the following areas: preparation and filing of annual state and local income tax returns, preparation of state quarterly estimates and extension, as well as preparation of state income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740 (formerly known as FAS 109/FIN48) for TAH Group. S/he will prepare formal responses to correspondence received from various state tax authorities, and assemble data in preparation for state audits. S/he will present state tax topics to other business units and participate or lead special state projects as needed. S/he will research and analyze Nexus regulations and methodologies of filing positions. Job Details: 1. Annual Group Tax Returns: o Prepare and file State and Local corporate income tax returns in a timely manner o Responsible for the data gathering and calculations of state apportionment factors o Calculate estimated State and Local quarterly tax obligations o Maintain State tax calendar to manage all extensions, quarterly payments and annual filing deadlines o Participate in State tax audits and reviews 2. Tax Provisions in accordance with ASC 740: o Prepare quarterly and annual state tax provision. o Responsible for the data gathering of information required to prepare the State and Local portion of the tax provisions from all subsidiaries o Develop the overall effective rate for State and Local taxes o Calculate and track State Deferred tax provisions based on change in DT assets/liabilities – short & long term o Valuation adjustments to State DT assets/liabilities o Responsible for identifying, preparing and updating State tax reserves o Work with Big 4 auditors on aspects of FAS 109 / FIN 48 quarterly reviews and annual audit 3. Research and Analysis of Nexus Regulations and Methodologies for Filing Returns o Maintain State and Local taxation matrix for all Group subsidiaries o Research and conclude upon nexus attributes of all Group companies, working with outside tax consultants where necessary o Responsible for analyzing and identifying State filing methodologies (i.e. separate, combined, unitary) – where optional elections exist, responsible for analyzing most beneficial method 4. Support Group Tax Director and VP & Group Treasurer as required on corporate taxation and other tax matters. Although primary emphasis of this position is State and Local income taxes, there would be the expectation to participate in certain aspects of federal return preparation or other tax special projects when needed.


Position Requirements: • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) o Ability to work independently with limited supervision o Ability to deal effectively with external tax consultants & advisors o Interpersonal skills to deal with accounting managers and staff within Group Companies and secure cooperation o Financial acumen to identify tax strategies and deductions available to minimize company’s tax burden in accordance with applicable laws o Strong communication skills – both verbal and written o Excellent analytical and problem solving skills Background Experiences o Bachelor’s in Finance or Accounting required, CPA preferred o Tax Professional with minimum 5 years in corporate taxation of a mid to large sized diversified company with multiple subsidiaries operating in the majority of the 50 states (mix of Big 4 and corporate experience preferred) o Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook o Familiarity with tax compliance/reporting and tax depreciation software o Familiarity with Vertex Tax Compliance Software, JD Edwards and Hyperion a plus although not required o Experience working with numerous subsidiary accounting and finance departments and establishing relationships is critical.
