Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.
Build a combined academic/community based gastroenterology program that will serve as a foundation for a fellowship program.
Provide effective leadership and coordination of all components of the division.
Direct clinical and educational components of the division.
Provide effective guidance of divisional research activities.
Minimum Hire Rate
salary commensurate with related education, experience and/or skills
Board certified in Internal Medicine.
Board certified in Gastroenterology.
Have a medical license in State of Texas or be eligible to obtain a medical license in Texas.
Record of effectiveness as a teacher.
A record of peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
A record of academically related public service.
Excellent interpersonal and mentoring skills.
A record of administration and leadership.

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.
Lectures and conferences in gastroenterology and internal medicine.
Outpatient/inpatient clinical practice to include the digestive diseases center and inpatient gastroenterology and internal medicine rotations.
Some prison work is required.

MD degree required.
Academic degree as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held.
