The mission of Operation Progress is to empower underserved youth to become educated, capable, ethical and productive people who will in turn lead, mentor and contribute to society at large. To do this, we guarantee our commitment to supporting students from 3rd grade through high school and beyond through our comprehensive program called Five Pillars of Success. Through Academics, Health & Wellness, Life Skills, Service and Safety & Support we believe hope, opportunity and success can be achieved.

Scholars are accepted into the OP program starting in 3rd or 4th grade and attend St. Lawrence of Brindisi and San Miguel from 3rd – 8th grade where they participate in OP’s 5 Pillars of Success. After graduating from 8th grade, the students attend a partnership school, boys matriculate into Verbum Dei High School and girls matriculate to St. Mary’s Academy. The goal is to have our scholars graduate from college well-rounded and career-ready.

Operation Progress is looking for a dynamic, high-energy candidate to fill the Program Director position. A successful candidate will be collaborative, confident and passionate executing about OP’s mission.

Position Overview:

The Program Director is in charge of overseeing the current system while creating, documenting and implanting new processes and procedures to complement the growth. This position is responsible for the day-to-day logistics of the program, including program planning, development, and evaluation. Additionally, the Program Director would oversee mentorship programs, recruitment, small events, and support the staff. In short, the Program Director will make sure that all logistical pieces are running smoothly so we can keep up with our growth and success.

PRIMARY RESPONSBINILITIES

Operations

  • Improve the Operational Systems, Processes and Policies in Support of Organization’s Mission
  • Upkeep of All Organization Manuals
  • Contribute to Short and Long-Term Organizational Planning and Strategy as a Member of the Management Team

Pillar Program Development and Management

  • Assistance with Development of Program Curriculums/Schedules
  • Budget Analysis and Management for Pillar Programs
  • Recruit, Interview, and Staff Pillar Programs
  • Help Oversee and Delegate Supervision of Pillar Programs
  • Plan and Coordinate Pillar Program Events (ex. WeDay, Service Events)
  • Communication with Students, Parents, and Mentors regarding Pillar Program Engagement and Attendance

Evaluation Development & Analysis

  • Development/Operationalization of all Pillar Evaluation Methods and Surveys
  • Development of Stakeholder Feedback Surveys
  • Distribution and Collection of Evaluation Surveys to Stakeholders each Semester
  • Compilation and Analysis of Pillar and Stakeholder Evaluations each Semester
  • Creation of Visual Survey Presentations
  • Assistance with Grant Reporting/General Reporting of Evaluation Methods

LAPD Mentorship Program

  • Assistance in Onboarding of New LAPD Mentors
  • Assistance in LAPD/Scholar Pairing
  • Creation of Monthly Meeting Agendas and Facilitation
  • Planning and Coordination of Bi-Monthly Mentorship Events
  • Monthly Updates with Academic/Behavioral Student Progress or Concerns
  • Management/Coordination of Mentor Outings and Visits

Executive Director Support

  • Assistance with Board Reports
  • Admissions Process Assistance
  • Grant Assistance

Efforts to Outcome Database Management

  • Configuration of ETO (updating collections/enrollment)
  • Continual Assessment and Management of Data Input/Collection

Young Professional Mentorship Program

  • Oversee Young Professional Mentorship Program
  • Monthly Updates with Academic/Behavioral Student Progress or Concerns
  • Planning and Coordination of Bi-Monthly Mentorship Events

Program Coordinator Supervision

  • Consistently Supervise and Guide Program Coordinator
  • Assign Tasks As Needed
  • Assist with Event Planning

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree (required), Master’s Degree (preferred)

Spanish Fluency (highly preferred)

Excellent computer skills and proficient in excel, word, outlook, and access

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management implementing best practices

Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives

Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.

A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace

Excels at operating in an fast pace, community environment
