We are currently looking for an individual to lead the Boiler Division within our Arizona Division of Occupational Safety & Health (ADOSH) Division, which is tasked with supervising the statewide Boiler Inspection and re-inspection program, assuring compliance and enforcement of boiler owner/operators with the Arizona Occupational Safety and Health Act and the Arizona Boiler Act..
The position supervises (technical), reviews, comments, and edits the insurance company inspector’s reports and their performance, providing feedback and training to all insurance company inspectors and owner/user inspectors as necessary. Audits and maintains records/certifications on all Owner/User programs within the State of Arizona (businesses such as SRP, APS, etc.). Responsible for updates and changes to the State of Arizona Boiler Regulations in order to keep them up to date with regular American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and the National Board Inspection Code (new editions every three years, addenda issued every year). Responsible for creating a "working partnership" with all boiler repair and inspection companies within the State of Arizona, and all owners of boilers (over 13,000) with the State of Arizona.

In-State travel is required. Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207 (12). Employees may be required to use their own transportation, as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed.

· Conduct strategic and long range planning relative to complex technical and public safety issues, including taking part in National Board and ASME committee meetings to promulgate new codes and standards that will provide the desired long-term effects for the program as well as its impact on the residents of Arizona.

· Effectively interpret and communicate technical codes.
· Asses and evaluate the effectiveness of inspection programs utilizing performance criteria and monitoring statewide production activities for State, owner/user and insurance company employees.
· Effectively analyze and communicate legislative impact, prepare technical analysis, testify before legislative committees, and prepare fiscal notes.
