Construction Assistant Project Manager for Construction Company
About the Job
Construction Assistant Project Manager. Commercial experience is a must. NYC SCA / NYC Agencies experience is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction/Engineering or a related field.
- This position reports to Project Manager and assists the Project Manager with coordinating all contract documents, logging and documenting, assist with coordination and supervise personnel, subcontractors, and vendors engaged on projects. They will handle multiple projects while serving as a company representative. They will also assist with subcontract bids, purchase orders and change orders. Must have knowledge of specifications and requirements, cost estimates, preparing reports, budget and accounting practices, related laws, ordinances, codes rules and regulations.
- Prepare submittals for various projects, update submittal logs.
- Ability to understand/review blueprints for specific disciplines.
- Work with architects and engineers to develop clear understanding of project scope during construction phase. Develop relationships with members of A/E firms and project team members. Will be responsible for assisting project management with a complete scope of work.
- Maintain project documents such as drawings and specifications in an organized and reasonable manner. Maintain project files on file server in accordance with company standards.
- You should be highly articulate, have clear and analytical approach to problem solving, and strong decision making abilities. To succeed in this role you will need excellent communication and presentation skills.
Skills & Qualifications:
Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word etc.), AutoCAD, Outlook, Analyzing Information, Developing Budgets, Vendor Relationships, Reporting Skills, Estimating, Decision Making, Teamwork, Documentation Skills, Quality Focus
Qualifications
- 3 years minimum experience in office administration of a construction company a must.
- Exceptional written and verbal skills.
- Ability to multitask in a high interrupt environment to get the job done.
- Experienced in working handling, City and State Agencies of NY and an understanding of the local trade industry in NYC a plus.
- Must be able to work full time.
