The Warehouse Manager directs and coordinates activities of the International Divisions’ warehouse (Air Freight) through the shipping and receiving of customer cargo. This includes shipments for import, export, and short term storage processes.
Establishes, oversees and continuously improves local branch operational procedures of shipping, receiving and inventory management of freight in conformance with applicable rules, procedures and company policies.
Manages the daily operations, processes and workflows in the warehouse. Much of this work is accomplished through communications with the Warehouse department and other operational departments.
Develops Standard Operating Procedures. Ensures efficiency of daily operations, processes and workflows in the warehouse.
Manages escalations to branch leadership through proactive interaction. Provides regular reporting to branch management on volume of business, productivity, irregularities and related costs.
Controls inventory levels, plans for future capacity requirements, ensures inventory systems are up to date and reconciles data storage systems.
Completes audit of warehouse files. Reviews reports and manages all claims with carriers.
Functions as the main point of contact for all warehouse operations including communication with customers regarding their warehouse needs. Directly communicates with government representatives visiting the warehouse, including- TSA and US Customs; manages escalations involving transportation, customs examinations, packaging and crating issue resolutions.
Leads implementation of logistics solutions in the warehouse.
Oversees monthly warehouse billings to ensure accurate and timely completion on a monthly basis.
Manages warehouse inventory supplies to ensure proper levels.
Creates an atmosphere that promotes employee involvement. Communicates regularly with all employees.
Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Oversees use of equipment and ensures that equipment is in working order; and oversees warehouse maintenance.
Responsible for managing a Warehouse Supervisor who will manage a combination of non-exempt employees and temporary contractors. Provides the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing issues and resolving situations.
Associates degree with a minimum of 4 years warehouse experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
3+ years of supervisory/management experience.
Understanding of TSA with cargo screening processes and U.S. Customs regulations.
Forklift Certification and IATA Dangerous Goods certified.
Knowledge of import /export regulations, domestic transportation modes and providers.
Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for customer services.
Must possess time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
Must have the ability to compose letters, memos, emails and other written documentation clearly and concisely. Be able to present one’s self in a highly cooperative and professional manner with both internal and external customers, vendors, and government officials.
Must have working knowledge of Windows operating system and be proficient in Microsoft software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.)
