In order to achieve our mission, we know that “the books” must be accurate and done in a timely manner. The Bookkeeper is ultimately responsible for keeping records that our Operations team can depend on, reducing their number of overall concerns, and allowing them to concentrate on what they do best: providing extra-mile service.
OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE!
- Maintain vendor relations
o Reconcile vendor statements
o Act as point person for vendor invoice/payment questions
o Assist managers with invoice questions
o Daily counting
o Maintaining cash drawers
- Maintain accounting files, both physical and digital
- Responsible for office supplies, both ordering and maintaining inventory
- Daily processing of financial transactions
o Posting daily sales
o Invoice coding and entry
o Waste and transfers
o Processing check runs
o Processing payroll
- Assist controller in financial reporting
- Process monthly customer statements and posting payments

WHAT’S IMPORTANT TO HAVE
1 year experience in bookkeeping or similar role, required
Familiar with an administrative office environment
Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
WHAT’S NICE TO HAVE
Experience in retail grocery, but no worries if you don’t. This is a great place to get to know all about it!

WHAT THE WORK ENVIRONMENT IS LIKE
It is tight! Not quite being packed in like sardines, but close sometimes. It may be necessary to step outside depending on the task at hand or walk between buildings. Be prepared for all weather conditions. That means from time to time you will need a raincoat, warm outerwear, boots, and an appreciation of Vermont’s beautiful and changing weather!
