We are seeking a highly motivated scientist to join a display-based therapeutic antibody discovery group in the BioMedicine Design Department at Pfizer, Inc. in Cambridge, MA. The candidate will be responsible for design and construction of antibody display libraries and selection of primary hits and optimized leads for biotherapeutic programs using phage and yeast display technologies. The role requires a strong background in molecular biology, phage or yeast display, assay development and high- throughput screening. An understanding of antibody structure and experience with NextGen sequencing are strongly desired. The successful candidate should demonstrate a strong passion for life science and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced collaborative environment.

Design and construct antibody libraries for optimization of affinity and manufacturability properties.
Develop high-throughput technologies for rapid antibody discovery and optimization.
Design and execute antibody discovery campaigns using phage and yeast display technology.
Develop assays and execute high-throughput antibody screening using robotic liquid handling equipment.
Analyze selection outcomes and identify hits using next-generation sequencing (NGS).
Characterize IgGs by analytical techniques such as ELISA, flow cytometry, and Octet.
Independently analyze data and troubleshoot methods. Present experimental design and assay results at internal meetings

PhD in molecular biology/immunology/cell biology or a related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of research experience
Strong molecular biology skills, including at least 3 years of hands-on experience with primer design, PCR, and antibody library design and construction.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience using phage or yeast display technology for antibody isolation.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in development and execution of screening assays, including ELISA, HTRF, and flow cytometry.
Strong computational skills:minimumof 2 years’ experience in analysis of large antibody sequence and screening data sets, development of automation protocols, protein structural analysis, etc.
Strong communication skills and ability to present research in a team setting.

Experience with sample preparation for NGS and NGS data analysis strongly preferred.
