Penn State Altoona’s Office of Development and Alumni Relations is seeking an Alumni Relations and Stewardship Officer 3. This position will assist in the development and implementation of all aspects of the alumni relations and stewardship programs at the college, in an effort to provide overall support toward the college’s fundraising success throughout the current campaign, “A Greater Penn State for 21st Century Excellence,” and beyond. This position reports directly to the Director of Development and Alumni Relations. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, effective at managing multiple projects with varying deadlines, and willing to contribute to the higher-level needs of the office.
This position will provide oversight and management for special events and programming related to alumni relations and/or stewardship programs. The position will identify, recruit, and manage alumni volunteers to serve on the Alumni Society Board of Directors, as staff liaison to the Board of Directors, and will serve as advisor to the Blue and White Society, the student organization of the Penn State Alumni Association. This position will work collaboratively with the Development and Alumni Relations Office, the Alumni Association and/or central University Development staff, division heads, faculty, staff, and volunteers in alumni relations and stewardship activities. This position will also assist in planning and coordinating the nomination and selection process for various alumni association and/or scholarship awards.
In addition, this position will coordinate endowment management efforts, serving as the stewardship liaison through use of eSteward for stewardship and endowment related inquiries. The successful candidate must possess exemplary interpersonal skills and demonstrate a genuine appreciation in working with diverse audiences. In addition, the candidate must be skilled in verbal and written communication; social media; and creative event planning. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
