Thermo Fisher Scientific is looking for an IT Director supporting the Corporate Finance as well as Merger and Acquisition related IT activities. The candidate brings extensive experience identifying and developing systems, solutions and business processes for our corporate finance and strategy business partners. The candidate will work closely with our business partners to develop system roadmaps and strategic initiatives that will increase productivity, improve business processes and ensure cost savings objectives for the company. Successful performance contributes to the enhancement and support of Global Finance systems and processes as well as provide IT support related to Merger & Acquisition due diligence This role will lead a global team of IT business analysts and project managers.

Essential Functions:
Performs in a Director capacity representing the Corporate IT Finance and M&A organization.
Manages ongoing leadership and support for Financial systems and tools.
Leads deployment of new Finance technologies and applications throughout the enterprise.
Provide IT leadership for Corporate Strategy and M&A Business Sponsors related to a specific transaction.
Guide transaction team to follow IT playbook process, drive alignment between IT and acquisition business case, ensure IT responsibilities are staffed appropriately.
Consult with IT senior leadership of the acquired entity to prioritize integration activities, coach appropriate change management/culture actions, and align IT organization assets.
On an ongoing basis, build relationships with key business leaders to stay current on in-organic deal activity.
Identify strategic fit/gap between acquisition’s IT platform and process and Thermo Fisher Scientific IT strategy including action plan.
Identify cross functional dependencies between multiple ERP and Financial based systems.
Be a strong leader of multi-level IT Business Analyst and IT Project Managers.
Works as an influencer with the global business community to make appropriate decisions relative to business goals and how to achieve those goals while directing project leadership.
Guide business to the adoption of global standard processes based on use of standard process models.
Demonstrates enthusiasm, takes accountability and drives for results.
Acts as liaison between business partners and technical teams.
Through the analysis of business process, collect and translate business insights, ideas and concepts into clearly defined requirements for process and system improvements.
Follows best-practice business analysis and project management methodologies to facilitate exchange between project stakeholders, business users, developers, and testers.
Recommend and implement changes to internal processes to improve team productivity and throughput.

Experience:
Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role with successful completion of various IT, M&A integration, divestiture, joint-venture and financial projects varying in size and complexity.
Must have technical expertise in one or more of the core Financial solutions (i.e. Hyperion suites, Oracle suites, SAP).
Proven problem solving, GAPP Accounting, and project management skills needed.

Education:
Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science, MIS, IT, Business, Accounting or equivalent experience.
