POLITICO seeks a Live Experience Specialist to support the POLITICO Live events team on the production of high-profile, newsworthy events, programs, and experiences for the organization. This position plays a critical role in establishing an elevated brand presence and scalable production strategy for events for multiple editorial franchises, key moments, global initiatives, and other as determined by the business. The ideal candidate has great attention to detail, a passion for organization and logistics, is creative and savvy across event experience touches and marketing tactics and is highly responsive and collaborative.

What You'll Do:
- Create innovative, high-caliber event productions for POLITICO Live events designed to display POLITICO’s brand and editorial content, tell client stories, and engage POLITICO’s event community of target influencer audiences, VIPs, and strategic clients
- Drive smart and repeatable event logistics and planning across events that can be tailored and/or optimized based on the needs and unique requirements
- Translate the purpose and goals of each event into the event design and experience; help define production standards and lead logistical plans for event experiences tailored to individual organizational needs or client goals for programming like summits, global key moments, single sponsor programs, special sponsor activations, etc
- Manage logistics for all POLITICO Live events, including, but not limited to, venue selection, audio-visual vendors, creative design, budgeting, marketing and promotional activities, event load in and out, registration management, speaker booking support, and other operational needs
- Support POLITICO Live by working across internal departments, including editorial, sales, marketing, design, and with clients, speakers, and vendors to plan and produce live and virtual events for the organization; build timelines, manage agendas, and run planning calls to keep stakeholders on track and accountable
- Maintain and/or build new relationships with vendors including, but not limited to, caterers, venues, designers, audio-visual vendors and production companies; assist in the selection, negotiation, and contracting of vendors, creative design, and conduct site visits as needed
- Ensure exceptional project management of events, including the ownership of timelines and templates, driving best practices, and upward communication to managers and stakeholders
- Manage and adhere to event budgets and identify opportunities for cost savings
- Manage communication, book travel logistics for speakers, and provide other administrative support if needed
- Own post-event activities such as processing invoices, reconciling the budget, reporting on attendance, developing recap presentations, running debriefs, and collecting video and photo assets
- Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends and developments; recommend enhancements to improve the totality of the experience and production
What You'll Need:
- A demonstrated interest in politics, policy, and the political process
- 2 to 3 years of experience in event planning, ideally for a news or political organization
- Proven in-person and virtual event execution skills
- 2 to 3 years of project management experience on numerous concurrent events
- Knowledge of virtual event platforms and registration technologies
- Knowledge of vendors, venues, and audiences in Washington and other key markets
- Exceptional time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment while adapting to shifting priorities
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure
- Experience using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint along with social platforms like, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, and event software and registration platforms like Splash
- Ability to travel up to 15-20% if required
