The community-based program has a mix of day, evening, and weekend shifts, all based on an individual's need. Employees will use their own car to transport individuals served (mileage reimbursed) to activities, events, shopping, banking, etc. Employees will assist with cleaning tasks, personal care, medical tasks, behavioral interventions, and daily paperwork. A monthly staff meeting is required that may fall outside of your scheduled work hours.
High School Diploma or equivalency. One year of experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred.Must have valid New York State driver's license and telephone.
Must have or complete within first 3 months and maintain CPR/First Aid as well as all other required training. A drug test, criminal background check, and Mental Hygiene Law (http://www.opwdd.ny.gov/node/4630 for information) check will be conducted.
