Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Design, related discipline, or equivalent experience.

5 years of experience in design.

Experience in visual communication and interaction design Experience prototyping designs and using graphic design software (e.g., Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Sketch).

Portfolio of work and ideas.

Preferred qualifications:
Experience in programming, openFrameworks, and/or mobile development.

Experience in interaction design and motion.

Knowledge of the Google brand, design aesthetic, and philosophy. Understanding of physical installation design.

Ability to effectively establish visual hierarchy, layout, typography, and color. Excellent design skills.

Ability to handle multiple priorities on tight deadlines without compromising quality.

Passion for the latest trends in interaction, art, and technology.

The Experience Studio team is a small team of designers, producers, engineers, and business thinkers whose mission is to inspire Google’s customers through the interactive spaces that we create. Within the Experience Centers team, we focuses on creating engaging, scaleable exhibits. Our job is to design and deliver engaging physical, interactive experiences that tell Google’s story. We make Google’s magic more magical, and communicate Google’s position to shape new infrastructure that allows all of us to become more informed, more entertained, more connected.

As an Art Director, you will work and think in multiple dimensions, including sound, motion, interaction and technology. You're a designer passionate about working quickly and delivering exceptional visual experiences and interactions to our users.

Create design and visual communications across all mediums (e.g., small screens, big screens, novel interfaces, projections, theatrical effects, etc.).

Work with creative leads to deliver high level and/or detailed storyboards, mockups, and prototype to communicate interaction and design ideas.

Produce art assets (e.g., illustrations, icons, templates) and style guideline documents for use across the team.

Gauge the usability and design of new and existing experiences, this, ranging from a web app that helps coordinate exhibits and technology within a physical space to an interactive exhibit dedicated to communicating Google’s story, and make constructive suggestions for change.

End-to-end execution from art direction to sketches and pixel perfect production mocks.
