Belzona Inc. is the global leading manufacturer of high performance polymer coatings, with an extensive, worldwide network of over 160 international distributors operating in over 120 countries. We are currently looking to recruit a hardworking, motivated, deadline driven Bookkeeper to join our Florida based team.
ROLE
To be successful in this role, Bookkeeper should possess the ability to conduct a wide variety of intricate and complex accounting duties and projects. The deal candidate should be savvy in Excel, have excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Successful candidate for this position is responsible for supporting the monthly and year-end financial close with the following functions:
· Maintain/ distribute and reconcile petty cash on a monthly basis and prepare, process and post deposits for incoming payments.
· Monitor bank positive pay system for any transactions flagged by bank and follow up of outstanding deposits, ACH transactions and or checks as needed.
· Run Detailed Accounts Receivable Report at Month End for all companies assigned
· Reconcile Purchase Orders (PO’s) in Fishbowl and monitor items received that have not been reconciled weekly.
· Review price discrepancies and obtain backup documentation for Non-PO purchases.
· Enter invoices to QuickBooks once all supporting documentation and approvals have been obtained.
· Reconcile the Credit Card Transactions entered in QB with the Monthly Statement Received.
· Ensure all new vendors are set up accurately in QB, obtain required documentation (i.e. New Vendor Form/ W-9/ Proof of Workers Comp Insurance or Waiver/ Certificate of Liability Insurance).
· Prepare hard copy new vendor files, create vendor files in network and scan information to appropriate files.
· Assist in preparation of annual 1099s and obtaining updated resale certificates as well as updating correcting taxable status and/ or tax rate as appropriate.
· Other duties as related to accounting and inventory management as assigned.
MINIMUN EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Associate degree in accounting from accredited US program or Accounting training certificates related
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS (experience, general knowledge, skills and abilities.)
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (G.A.A.P)
- 5 years of proven experience as bookkeeper
- Experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, credit card reconciliations, cash management and vendor management.
- Excellent Working knowledge of QuickBooks Enterprise Desktop accounting software and Excell spreadsheets, preferable
- Must speak and write English to a high level of competency; bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but no required
- Experience with Fishbowl, Word, Power point and Teams a plus
- Strong attention-to-detail
- Ability to complete jobs quickly yet accurately
