Position is on the trading floor working side-by-side with Senior economists examining the market-moving trends. Economic releases, the Federal Reserve's policy reaction and government funding of the deficit are a combination of quick reactions and preparatory modelling. Much of the work after understanding specific requests, is independent but in a small group, trading floor environment there is plenty of interchange. We meet various daily, weekly and ad-hoc deadlines on projects.

The VIE will analyze economic and financial market trends. He/she need to understand current economic and fundamentally driven market forces in order to offer insights and predictions to our Sales, Traders and Clients. This often means understanding employment, GDP, corporate profits and inflation trends, the rate setting by the Federal Reserve, the Federal budget deficit. On the market side, the team analyze Treasury yields, credit spreads and the dollar, as both a cause of or an effect on fundamental economic trends.

The VIE assignment in a nutshell

This VIE in New-York is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 18 months.

Graduate with a Master degree from Business/Engineering school or University, majoring in economics or Finance

A previous experience in Investment Banking would be appreciated.

You are fluent in English.

You are proficient in Office application and a statistical software package is a must.
