Our electronic physical security and physical network infrastructure cyber security solutions integrate video, access control, and detection systems to keep people, property, and data safe. The Electronic Physical Security Design Engineer will support Business Development by creating cost estimates for the design and installation of Security projects. Designs and cost estimates will include all the necessary materials, labor, and engineering required to deliver a profitable project which meets or exceeds the customers’ requirements. This position requires coordination with Project Managers and Business Development to assist in the transition from design to implementation.
As a Electronic Physical Security Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of systems into new or existing security infrastructure, including Physical and Logical Access Control Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems, Video Management, and Perimeter Detection. This position involves all aspects of security design and requires individuals who are willing to work as a team to deliver a successful design and profitable project.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responds to RFP bid specifications, writing scope of work, developing cost estimates, predicting the duration of the project, and including contingencies.
Knowledge of the IBC, local BC, EC, and best practice expectations for security design.
Estimates the amount and type of material required to deliver the bid specification.
Provides complete project engineering and estimating labor.
Assists the sales organization by attending site-walk and pre-bid meetings, documenting site conditions for use in the development of accurate cost estimates.
Ensures timely completion of and meets bid schedules and deadlines.
Acts as liaison between operations and sales: meet with sales, project management and operations to effectively transition projects and streamline communications.
Recommends vendors and materials to obtain best solution, most competitive price, and proper lead-times.
Reads and understand building floor plans and design from architects.
Establishes and maintains working relationships with vendors and subcontractors
Responsible for making engineering judgments and developing engineering plans and designs for electronic security systems
Design security system architecture for ACS, IDS, CCTV, etc.
Design of LAN and WAN topologies for security systems including switches, routers, and firewalls
Obtain knowledge on other technologies, as directed by customer demand.
Contribute to product selection research, configuration standards, and best practices
Help educate our sales teams on our products and services.
The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required by E2.
High School Diploma or GED required, Associate’s or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Minimum of seven (7) years Security industry experience required, with proven skill set certifications related to the security industry.
Minimum of 2 current manufacturer certifications preferred. (Lenel, Gallagher, Milestone, Bosch, Avigilon, Axis, Etc...)
2019 Auto CAD Experience preferred
Must be able to pass a Federal background check, local DMV, CBI that could go back as far as 7 years and must be clear and valid.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).
Must have basic Knowledge of 2019 AUTO CAD, Visio, and Blue Beam.
Must have the ability to learn new security systems, and pass certification courses.
Must have the proven ability to design, engineer, estimate, and develop written and graphic representation of the company’s proposed solutions utilizing the software resources provided by the company.
Able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
Impeccable problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated detail orientation.
Should be comfortable with understanding building floor plans and construction designs.
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ability to work in teams and foster confidence in all.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. Ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, bend, rotate, push, pull, reach with hands and arms on intermittent to regular basis daily. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. The employee may be required to work in tight, confined spaces. The employee must demonstrate regular and on-time attendance. There could be a requirement of occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required.
