Machine Operator job summary
Currently seeking Machine Operators for a major medical device manufacturer in North Haven, CT.
Candidates should be dedicated individuals who always show up for work on time and who thrive in a team-oriented environment. This is a semi entry level position so some previous manufacturing experience is required. We have immediate job openings on 3rd shift. Operators are responsible for medical manufacturing Machine Operations working with small parts. Through training in all manufacturing processes, the Machine Operator will produce high quality finished goods according to the SOP and in keeping with Good Manufacturing Practices. *This is for a premier employer in the North Haven, CT area-don’t miss out! *
Machine Operator II
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Operates light-duty bench- or floor-type machine tools and equipment such as small lathes, power mills, extruding machines, drills or punch presses, power brakes, shears or saws.
May set up machining machines and make adjustments, and perform maintenance on machines.
Checks work using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerances.
May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Need to have:
Strong eyesight to inspect small needles
Ability to look through microscope for lengthy periods of time
Stable hands to handle small parts
Patience to troubleshoot small tooling
PRODUCTION SUPPORT CAREER STREAM:
Provides support in manufacturing operations and/or distribution centers including assembly, machinery, processing, packaging, and/or distribution of company products. May set up and operate automatic or semiautomatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation. Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities in machines, with higher levels recommending and/or making adjustments to methods and processes. May be involved in shipping, receiving, inventory control, or storage of products in distribution centers.
Established and productive individual contributor.
Works under moderate supervision; with general supervision and instructions given for routine work and detailed instructions for new activities .
Knows operating equipment and established operational procedures.
Works on clerical assignments in distribution center that may require application of prior experience.
Performs intermediate activities requiring judgment and decision-making in manufacturing/production operations or distribution center .
Work consists of tasks that are typically routine.
Innovation and Complexity:
Problems faced are routine and typically exist in current work processes and systems .
May be required to highlight areas of concerns / problems in own job area.
Communication and Influence:
Communicates typically with internal contacts within and outside of immediate team.
Obtains and provides information requiring some explanation or interpretation .
Leadership and Talent Management:
May provide guidance and assistance to new or entry level employees.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
Ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a clean room work environment, working with microscopes and working with very small medical parts. Ideal candidate will have job knowledge of production-related systems and procedures obtained through prior work experience or education.
Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience.
Qualifications and skills
- Minimum of High school diploma/GED required
- Previous Machine Operator
- Must have reliable Transportation
- Must be at least 18 years
Shifts, Hours and Pay
3rd shift 11:00PM to 7:00AM - $15.00 per hour – Machine Operator Positions After 3 months you will be eligible to be hired on as a permanent employee with client based on your performance and attendance. Pay goes up to $16.00 per hour after the three months during roll over.
